Port Macquarie Rowing Club

Members

 

The Port Macquarie Club is an incorporated club affiliated with Central Districts Rowing Association (CDRA) and thereby the New South Wales Rowing Association (NSWRA and Rowing Australia).

 

The Club year runs from July to June of the next year.

 

Membership fees are used to cover the costs of the general running and upkeep of the Club

 

Club activities are usually carried out under the Captain and senior experienced members. Craft are not to be used without the Captain's or senior members permission. Many craft in the shed have private ownership and Club regulations attached

MEMBERSHIP FEES

The payment of fees is due by 31 July of each year. Members may elect to pay in two installments with the 1st payment to be

1/2 of the full membership fee plus the full value of insurance of $5.00/person payable by 31 July of the year and the 2nd payment to be the remaining 1/2of the full membership fee payable by 31 October of that year.

 

NEW MEMBERS joining after 1 July 2007 are expected to pay a pro‑rata payment for the remaining part of the year.

REGATTA FEES

To compete in any NSW Rowing Regattas, including the Port Macquarie Regatta, members need to make their own arrangements to join the NSW Rowing Association and to pay the applicable Association Fee. BOAT DRILL

  • Always ask if you are not sure.

  • Safety always

  • Learn to carry craft correctly and return to rack correctly

  • Place the craft in the water with the bow facing into the current of the river.

  • Learn to enter the craft correctly.

  • Wash and wipe down craft after use.

  • Make sure someone knows where you are going.

  • Commit time to learning how to row well.

  • Report all damage

Rowing clubs take great pride in their achievements, traditions, and especially their fleet of craft. Enormous amounts of time and energy have created the Club and members expect these traditions and values to be respected. As a member you will be expected to help keep the Club operational by becoming involved with maintenance of boats, trailer, oars, launching area, boat shed, Club House as well as fundraising activities and regatta duties.
