PORT MACQUARIE ROWING CLUB

Founded in the 70's as the "Hastings River Rowing Club" and reborn in 1984, Port Macquarie Rowing Club is located on lower reaches of the Hastings River.

It is an incorporated non-organization registered with the Department of Fair Trading, is governed by a constitution and adminstered by a committee of 9 members.

PMRC Shed and Clubhouse

Facilities & Environment

PMRC boasts a shed housing over 20 club boats and multiple private sculls, a clubhouse (complete with erg machines, fridge and coffee-making facilities!) and nearby toilet & shower block. The shed leads out to a gravel launch. Rowers have the option of exploring east to the Settlement Point Ferry and Pelican Island , and west to the upper Hastings or Maria Rivers. Subject to tides and currents, the north-easter in summer, and westerlies in the winter, the Hastings can be anything from a millpond to a windswept torrent; in the latter case, rowers have the option of ducking south-east into the nearby canals, where peaceful waters can often be found.

Mission

Our mission is to promote enjoyment of the sport of rowing in a safe, welcoming environment, and appreciation and respect for our natural environment.
