The requirements to become a boat race official with NSWRA and CDRA are:

  • become competent with the duties, or some of the duties of a BRO by gaining skills and experience at regattas. This status is called a TRAINEE BRO and is registered with NSWRA and CDRA.
  • demonstrating competence in BRO duties.
  • learning and keeping up to date with the Laws of Boat Racing.
As the confidence and skill of the TRAINEE is demonstrated, status is upgraded to LEVEL 1 BRO Licence in each area of duty.

REMEMBER:
  • Enjoying the company and friendship of fellow BROs', competitors and the rowing community is a must.

NOTE:
  1. The LEVEL 2 BRO Licence is granted to a person who becomes competent with BRO duties at the Sydney International Rowing Centre (SIRC).
  2. To maintain status, the licence holder is required to keep up to date by attending a number of regattas.
