Duties of the Referee

At regattas conducted by the association a Referee shall be appointed from the BRO's at the regatta.
The Referee of the day will be stationed at the regatta communications control point and is in charge of the officials for the day. The Referee allocates the duties as necessary.
The Referee shall be responsible for making decisions on any unforseen matters that arise during the regatta and shall (if the Referee sees fit) confer with other members of the Jury of the day on anything deemed contentious.

The Referee maintains the Withdrawal Register for the regatta.

The Referee receives reports from all officials of the day and forwards a Master Regatta Programme to the Association containing:

  • time each race started
  • crews withdrawing.
  • crews not starting.
  • any substitutes in crews.
  • judge's results and times.
