The
Judge shall be stationed at the finish line in a position that allows a clear
view of the crews crossing the finish line.
- the sounding of the Judge's horn and the falling of
the Judge's flag shall indicate the finish of a race.
- subject to any disciplinary sanctions provided in
the Laws of Boat Racing, places shall be awarded according to the Judge's
decision.
- the Judge shall judge the first four crews in each
race and the margins between them. In a combined status races the Judge shall
place all crews that finish the race.
- upon seeing the Umpire's white flag raised in a vertical
position immediately after the finish of the race the Judge shall raise
a white flag to indicate that the race is all clear.
- the Judge often requires several assistants and on
all occasions they should work closely together.
