Recovery - Step 2 - Hand movement.

Fingers and thumb (slight drop of wrist) have rolled blade to sit parallel to water.

Points to note
Exercise
  • Blades should be off water and parallel to it.
  • Body 15 degrees past vertical, sitting back.
  • Watch hands move away.
  • Elbows move towards each other to create straight but not locked arms.
  • Hands brush as they cross.
  • Left hand in front of right.
  • Hands move away from body.

Note: There should be minimum gap between hand heights. This is set by correct detail to rigging.
  1. Back chock rowing
Note: In early boat building wooden chocks were placed at front and back of slide to stop seat sliding off.

  1. 3 - 5 sets of 10 max.


Take time between exercises.


Boat is moving fastest at this point.
